Refusal is same as failed... Make sure you can find a trucking job before you spend any money on your cdl.... Check out Understanding Pre-Hires ... If you can find a couple pre hires then Truck Driving Schools
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I don't think you're going to have any luck with the company-sponsored programs and I don't know if any of the major companies will consider hiring you right now. You might have to let a few years pass before you'll get a serious look from anyone big.
Definitely make sure you can get two or three pre-hires before you commit to any Independent Truck Driving Schools.

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.DUI:

DWI:
Driving While Intoxicated
While this " "No DWI , DUI convictions within the last 5 years." seems to be common across all companies you also have one other question that you may not be aware of that will trip you up....."Having you refused testing or a alcohol/drug test in the last 5 years?" which is on every company job application.
Now put the DL Suspension and the testing refusal together(which is the same as a fail) and that can be a deadly combination for a driving career.

In December 2014 I was pulled over in my vehicle and refused a breathalyzer. I was never charged with DUI. My personal record is clean, but my drivers license was suspended for 1 year.
I'm will be getting back my license in here soon, and I would like to Immediately go off to one of the major company driving schools. I understand I am disqualified from a lot of the companies due to my recent suspension. But there are some companies, such as Swift, which only state, "No DWI , DUI convictions within the last 5 years."
What are the chances they will take me on? Do they consider a refusal of breathalyzer a DUI conviction? I'm reading conflicting things. Thanks
