You'll be fine. You have to lift a box of weights up on to a shelf, step up and down on a box to raise your heart rate and simulate pulling a 5th wheel release. It's nothing difficult and the hearing test is basically the nurse whispering to you from down the hall.

I am scheduled to start orientation at Knight on Oct 26th. I passed my DOT physical just fine, but I am a little nervous about their functional capacity testing. Has anyone gone through it recently who can tell me what to expect? I have read about a cardio type test where they measure your heart rate and then take it again to see if it drops back down. Is there a heart rate that is too high as far as a pass/fail thing? Then you lift 50 pounds over your head and put it on a shelf. And the hearing test, is it the sit in a booth type thing where you listen for a tone and push the button sort of thing?
I am in okay shape, but not great and I'm starting to stress a little. My BMI is about 24.5 - 24.7. I may have some slight hearing loss in one ear, but I think it was at the higher range of tones (probably from too many sirens...)
Thanks.

It's quite common, especially for men, to fall into the "overweight" category if you happen to be stronger than average. If you're pretty strong but in good shape then pay no attention.
