I and restarting the tanker section. And I think I have noticed a mistake.

On page 60, Section 8.1 we read the following:

In general, check the following:

Tank body or shell for dents or leaks.

Intake, discharge and cut-off valves.

Make sure valves are in correct position before loading, unloading or moving the vehicle.

Pipes, connections and hoses for leaks, especially around joints.

Manhole covers and vents. Make sure covers have gaskets and that they close correctly. Keep vents clear so they work correctly.

Special purpose equipment. If your vehicle has any of the following equipment, make sure it works:

Uncouple tractor and pull away from second and third trailers.

Couple second and third trailers using the method for coupling doubles.

Uncouple tractor and pull away from second and third trailers.

I am not sure, but I think the last three lines belong somewhere else and something is missing that should be there. smile.gif

Doubles:

Refers to pulling two trailers at the same time, otherwise known as "pups" or "pup trailers" because they're only about 28 feet long. However there are some states that allow doubles that are each 48 feet in length.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Ok you're right - I have no idea how that got there. It now says:

Special purpose equipment. If your vehicle has any of the following equipment, make sure it works:

- Vapor recovery kits.

- Grounding and bonding cables.

- Emergency shut-off systems.

- Built-in fire extinguisher.

Thanks!

You are very welcome.

I am surprised someone didn't notice it before now. Unless it was just a computer glitch of some kind and just happened.

Keep it safe out there. Joe S
