No APU. If you need a CPAP to sleep they install an inverter, otherwise it's not authorized. I think a lot of people have them though. As far as pay, home time, etc., I'm new to trucking and have only worked for Swift so I can't compare to the others.

I've been driving for Swift since February. I get $0.36 per mile, home time is adequate I think it's about one day per week.
Owner ops can have a their own APU installed, the only inverters company drivers can use are the plug-in type. Anything larger that goes to the battery is not allowed. Of course, the CPAP issue is different.
Swift does have a terminal in Ocala. Overall, Swift ain't too bad a gig. Most trucks are Freightliners, but the two trucks I've had were Kenworths. I've got a 2014 KW T780 now.

The schooling often requires little or no money up front. Instead of paying up-front tuition you will sign an agreement to work for the company for a specified amount of time after graduation, usually around a year, at a slightly lower rate of pay in order to pay for the training.
If you choose to quit working for the company before your year is up, they will normally require you to pay back a prorated amount of money for the schooling. The amount you pay back will be comparable to what you would have paid if you went to an independently owned school.
Company-sponsored training can be an excellent way to get your career underway if you can't afford the tuition up front for private schooling.

Hello Drivers, who has information on swift transportation? Hows the company, pay,miles,hometime,trucks,do they carry APU ,can u install inverter and ect. I'm looking for a Florida base company to transfer to so I can get home more often. My current company is a pain to get home time.
