How do truckers stay fit n healthy on road

How do you get around towns beside truck stop walking n driving the truck

If my home terminal TN but I in say ND n they have a terminal there I have to do say a 2 day reset break can I take it in ND and see the area town etc

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.

I haven't started driving yet, but in a former life, I was a strength trainer.

Here's how I plan to stay in shape, without much fuss, and in a very short amount of time, 4 days per week:

The Tabata Method [http://breakingmuscle.com/strength-conditioning/the-tabata-revolution-explained-what-why-and-how-to-tabata]

PROTOCOL -- Repeat 8 times: 20 seconds of all-out exercise, followed by 10 seconds of rest. This adds up to four minutes total per workout. Anyone has time for that.

I'll do a different exercise each time I stop for the day. Pushups, Kettlebell Squats, Handstand Pushups, Crunches, Squat Thrusts, Chins, etcetera.

Nutrition is also important. Avoid the truck stops. Buy your own food instead. Protein shakes, steamed veggies, eggs, and other real, non-processed food. Most of all, avoid liquid calories and sugar.

If you want to stay healthy, you'll find a way. Hope this helps.

Tough points on both of those, Adam. The life of an OTR trucker offers little time or opportunity for exercise. And truck stops are usually located away from retail and entertainment parts of town. Even bobtails are too big for most parking lots, presuming you can disconnect from your trailer. A nephew of mine carries a bicycle inside his cab, and I've seen others strap them to the back of the cab. I think the only reasonable option is to rent a car. If there's a car rental place nearby, they often will come and pick you up, take you back to their store, where you then rent the car. Just costs money.

Bobtail:

"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.
