I am attending a private school in Allentown PA. One week complete of general knowledge, mostly very easy except for understanding the different types of air brakes. Trying to line up a company to go to as soon as I pass the driving test. Considering TMC and Schnieder flatbed or tanker, strictly for the tuition reimbursement. Is there Tanker only company that offers tuition reimbursement.
My only complaint with the school is they are not doing very well at preparing us to work in the industry. What to be aware of and avoid pitfalls. How to be prepared etc. This may come later though.
I would like to have coffee with a veteran driver in the Lehigh Valley that drive flatbed or tanker, I'll buy!
Your forum is absolutely awesome.
I wanted to add that the audio visual materials that Sage uses are horribly dated. I really think the guys in the videos may be taking dirt naps. My class is 6 people $5435.00 you would think they would have the latest decade material. The videos are from the 1980s and transfer to dvd.
I feel your pain... I really do. I'm at Sage in San Antonio right now. I already did my 2 weeks of classroom training now just finishing up my drives. 3 left to go and then driving test on thursday.
the school isn't bad, just some of the stuff they use and teach based off of is outdated. My instructors have been good at preparing you for the real world in most cases, especially our newest one because he literally was just driving for Western less than 3 weeks ago. he kind of shadowed my last week of classroom training and then I have done several of my 4 hour drive sessions with him.
