Hey, I just got my orientation letter. I leave Louisiana at 7:55 pm on Sunday and arrive at 3:20 pm on Monday.

My final test for my CDL (3rd party tester) is 9:30 am on Friday. Looking forward to getting on the road !

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

I lived in opelousas for a while. I really enjoyed it down there except for that humidity lol.

I hear ya ! I've lived in big cities most of my life. When I first got here, I wad told that for my apprenticeship, I had to live in Morgan City. The humidity and lack of ANYTHING, was a culture shock to say the least. Luckily that only lasted for 3 years.
