2nd day in class. It is going well. I live in a small town in TN. Our vocational school sponsored by TLD is great. 4 people at a time. I should get my learners by Thursday or Friday.

Congrats Lynn. Glad you're doing well. I'm on day 3 of my company orientation. . First driving job too lol. My employment road test went well today.

Thanks Sue and Barb. I passed my CDL learners permit test today. I don't know how other schools work, but I have 6 more weeks to learn to pass road test. Good luck to all. I like my school. Small classes, more one on my new time.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Got my learners permit! No sweat, well maybe just a little sweat. I am doing well on class work and tests. We have started on pre trip test work and will start hands on pre test this week. Weather is bad unfortunately.

All you ladies need to start posting! Ladies of trucking is the future.

Congrats and good luck Lynn B and to all. I am restarting orientation tomorrow, i had to reschedule i am excited and nervous at the same time.

Did they give I enuff info in those cpl days to pass the written test?

Do the give enuff info in class to pass the written test? I'm kinda stresdin over it and haven't even gotten there yet. Lol!

Jaz, if you haven't already make sure to complete as much of the High Road Training Program as you can. It might be difficult to do all of it depending on how long you have until you take the written, but try. It is a great resource and will leave you very prepared for the written test. Honestly, the exam is not that bad and is usually the easiest part of this road for most people.
