Hello, everybody I am trying to get my finances in order so I can attend trucking school. I will be attending Millis Training institute first part of April in the Ohio location. So my question is, How much living expenses do I need for the whole training. I won't need it on the weekends only weekdays. I live 1 1/2 hours from the school. Going to stay at motel during the week to save on gas. Has anybody went to the Millis in Ohio? Did you like it or not.

Thanks Everybody, Sam IV

I didn't go to millis for school I went to a local school but when I made the road trip for orientation I took an extra hundred with me and it lasted me about a week and a half. If your going home on weekends you won't have to worry about laundry and stuff just food really. Depending on what the school covers of course.

When I went to C1, they covered my place to stay. What I remember having to come up with was gas money back and forth to the hotel, (I drove my own pickup,) daily food expenses, and the occasional trip to Walmart for personal supplies whenever needed. It was really hot in August, so I made several trips to buy large quantities of Gatorade.

I also had to come up with the license fee for the DMV before I could take my test.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

DMV:

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
