DAC:

Drive-A-Check Report

A truck drivers DAC report will contain detailed information about their job history of the last 10 years as a CDL driver (as required by the DOT).

It may also contain your criminal history, drug test results, DOT infractions and accident history. The program is strictly voluntary from a company standpoint, but most of the medium-to-large carriers will participate.

Most trucking companies use DAC reports as part of their hiring and background check process. It is extremely important that drivers verify that the information contained in it is correct, and have it fixed if it's not.

Pebbles have you ever looked into private schools? Workforce Investment Act (WIA) is a federal program located thru your local unemployment office that pays for you to get a CDL. They paid my entire school and for my license.

Have you checked with Central Refrigerated, the training is far away, but that is the program I am leaning toward. Their training is in Salt Lake City Utah, I looked into CR England, but they had forced dispatch to NYC, that scared me, lol. Also I am looking into Knights.

RedGator I see you are in Allentown! I am as well. Looking at going to Lehigh Career & Technical Institute to get my CDL. I've called Careerlink and they gave me some very general info on WIA, they said I need to go to an info session first. Any input you can give on WIA application and requirements?

You have to be unemployed or under employed. It takes about a month to get funding. My suggestion if your going to go to school is go to LCCC which is right across the street. They are AWESOME! The school really works with you. Yea LCTI boost one on one but I promise you that you learn so much more in a group. They only put 3 to a truck and its very personalized. I loved my school. Wouldn't have gone anywhere else!

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

Basically you go to career link for the introduction, you then take 2 more classes and then you have to do the requirements. Document 5 weeks of job search, visit schools, ect. Then you hook up with a case worker they work to get you funding and then you start school. Its all really easy. Need any advise just ask. I try to pop in here as much as I can or facebook is a good place to find me : Nalee Malcombe McPherson. Good luck to ya:)
