Before long you will look back and laugh... Remember when.... I went through a similar issue and had a medical after training and wasn't able to take CDL test, now company said sorry find somewhere else to go. So now looking at Jim Palmer Trucking or Roehl Trucking

Been a while since I posted. We got to week 3 and boom I got DQ'd on a medical. But I am happy to say that everything is clear now and we start back up this coming Monday (May 30). Only one thing though...we are not going to be driving for PAM anymore. Apparently they wouldn't sponsor us even with the all clear. So we went with Swift. We were one day out from testing at state when my little mishap occurred, and that frustrates me more than anything. Oh well things happen for a reason. And we go back, and will most likely be pushed hard since we know most of what we need to pass state.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

Besides look how much FARTHER you will be when class starts again, will be much less stressful, You already have your permit. In KY we had to have DOT Physical and Permit before showing up for school. Now I am looking at going to school again. But won't stress this time since will be MY 2nd time through also. Keep on keeping on, sorry about Losing EVERYTHING, but it's JUST Stuff and you 2 will be making more $ then you know what to do with, especially since you are teaming and NOT going home. Piece of Advice every once in a while. GET OUT OF THE TRUCK...Take a 34 reset IN A NICE Hotel. Other wise you may get burn out QUICKLY.

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

OWI:

Curious about the medical d/q, was it something they found in your history? I had an issue a cpl years ago and I'm waiting on my records to see how the dr worded/states the problem. Just don't want any surprises once I get started.

My medical wax somewhat my fault. Dehydration with exhaustion. Nearly passed out at school.

Swift is pretty cool. Been with them for nearly 3 weeks & can't find anything negative to say. My mentor is a solid dude & I'm loving life OTR.

Is Walter still lurking around with that grumpy look on his face? 😂

OTR:

Over The Road

OTR driving normally means you'll be hauling freight to various customers throughout your company's hauling region. It often entails being gone from home for two to three weeks at a time.

Yeah Mr. Grumpy is still there. But I do have to say that the staff at C1 has been amazing. The only one I am not impressed with was the medical person. She is the one that DQ'd me. Even Katie was super upset that it happened. We were supposed to test the next day...which makes me think they are going to push us this next week. Yes we go back on Tuesday. Yeah.
