Hey thanks! Yeah, people really love it. The best way to learn a large amount of information like the CDL manual is by doing small amounts at a time, using repetition to reinforce the materials, and not going on to new materials until you have a firm grasp on what you've covered so far. It's highly effective.
I'm going to begin contacting schools pretty soon to give em the heads up about it so they can have their students go through it before they even begin their schooling. It gives people a gigantic head start. They'll not only learn the CDL manual a thousand times better than they would just reading through it, but the logbook and weight & balance sections will teach those subjects far better than the schools cover them.
For those wondering what we're referring to, it's our free CDL test preparation course called The High Road Training Program.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
A written or electronic record of a driver's duty status which must be maintained at all times. The driver records the amount of time spent driving, on-duty not driving, in the sleeper berth, or off duty. The enforcement of the Hours Of Service Rules (HOS) are based upon the entries put in a driver's logbook.
Thats a great idea. I wasnt prepared to take my written test at all. As for log books and stuff they didnt really touch on it. They said we would learn on the road. They would only really teach us what we needed to know to pass the test. The manual is hard to read even after all I have learned. You should do that. There is alot of people going into this with no knowledge of airbrakes or general knowlege and you only have 2-3 days to learn alot. Like me. I had been around and in trucks for years, but knew nothing. I think if I was told I wouldnt have struggled soooo.. bad in the beginning. I will tell people about it also. Expecially when I go back to school. Thank you again!
I would go as far to say that the high road program is the best thing since sliced bread!
I am not done with it either. I will have to pick up my hazmat endorsement sometime in the next couple of months.I have been through the hazmat section, but before I go to the DMV to get, I plan to go through it again. Plus I showed the site to all my class mates when we were in orientation, and several of them plan to use it for the same thing.
Explosive, flammable, poisonous or otherwise potentially dangerous cargo. Large amounts of especially hazardous cargo are required to be placarded under HAZMAT regulations
The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
I've only done the first 2 sections, but he information is easy to learn because of the repetition, gonna hit it hard soon. Its a awesome program, can't believe its all free Brett, thank you.
Brett are gonna get to tag names when you are through? I have been trying to ask Jason a question and cant seem to catch him.

Do you mean tags for the different topics? I'm not sure what you mean.
Like on FB. Name Tag. @Jason c. And it will light up and tell him that he is being talked about. I guess Pm would work too, but this way we dont miss something that was meant for us. Does that explain better. If you cant thats cool just an idea.

ooooooooooooooooh......I hadn't even thought of that!
Well I'm definitely going to setup private messaging - that's about the top of the list. And I am also going to setup tags for topics so that I can tag them with things like "Swift company training" or "choosing a truck driving school" so that you can find a list of topics on a certain subject all in one place.
But I hadn't thought about being able to tag a person in order to get their attention or what have ya.
hmmmmmmm.........I'm gonna ponder that idea.
When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.
