Ok so I'm driving on I10 this morning traffic starting to get thick is 0600 and there it is cars changing lanes almost hitting other cars, they were trying to avoid a square looking object in the lane that it probably fell off someone's vehicle, well I'm doing 45mph but my first reaction is to change lanes but there was vehicles on both of my sides, as I try to stop I was on top of it, well it got stuck under my wheel and gas tank on my passenger side and than it fell off, I got off the freeway for it was my exit anyway and move to the side of the road, I did a detail inspection of air lines air brake lines fuel tanks air tanks tires everything, call my company to reported, well I made my delivery and got to the TA in Ontario where they cut a piece of my plastic fuel cover where the steps to the passenger are and everything is good, question, is this consider a preventable accident, the plastic shield of the gas tank cover on that side is crack/broken and my beautiful tractor now looks ghetto, it's my first incident and I've been solo for 2 month now, would like to know so I can brace myself....out

Does your Company have front facing cameras. That would certainly clear you of any fault in my opinion

This is my 5th month on the road and I'll tell you from experience talk to your safety department to find out for sure. Generally act of nature and not being able to avoid **** on the road is considered unavoidable. Hell, the company work for their policy is, if there's an animal on the road don't avoid it HIT IT! I have killed so many animals because I refuse to swerve an 80,000 lb truck... The saddest was a cat, damned thing was running around in circles on the interstate I could have swore that dumbass was probably rabid. I also braced myself to slam into a coyote and it grew a brain at the last second and got out of my way.
