Yap, everyone makes a ton of mistakes early in their career. The key is making sure they're small mistakes. "Almost" taking out two trucks is just so vastly different than actually talking out two trucks!

Sure glad you have a trainer you get along with. That's such a big deal. Some guys get stuck with drill instructors who are as miserable and nasty all the time. I can't imagine trying to learn a new career with some some jerk screaming in my face every time I do something less than perfect. There's nothing fun about that!

Keep doin what you're doin! Take your time with everything you do. Most of the backing accidents and fender benders new drivers get into are caused by being in too much of a hurry. Relax, keep your eyes moving from mirror to mirror, and take your time.
