Before this I drove a chip truck and before that flatbed, both I was out of the truck more and doing more physical work. I'm either going to have to start talking walks or buy some stretchy pants. embarrassed.gif

Think I might get a bike, I see lots of trucks with bikes on the truck. Probably doesn't help I eat way to much truckstop gut rot.

A couple things I have been doing that help is I barely eat any snacks, have one meal a day, cut down on calories that you drink, and if possible at the shipper/receiver park farther away so you have to walk a little to get to the office. Been doing this and my weight is staying consistent.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

I saw a guy doing pushups in the rain yesterday. :-) Also, the big truck stops have the fruit and veggie cups 2/$5. I love those! Trail mix is a good snack if you don't eat it by the handful lol. I prefer Subway and Arby's over fried foods when we don't have groceries on the truck.

I walked 2 miles to get something to eat. Went to Panda Express, normally I would have went to a closer option. McDonald's is right across the street. It's a start I guess. Although there's a Baskin Robins I can see in my mirror, hope they close soon before I make the mad dash for ice cream!

Even if your only options for food is fast food, there are always healthier options. Salads and grilled chicken as well as egg whites in the morning. Hold all the condiments and cheese to avoid adding extra calories.

Keeping healthy snacks in the truck will help as well. Granola or trail mix is a good option but look for the kinds with lots of seeds, nuts and dried fruit instead of candies. Fruit is good to keep as long as you can eat it quickly. Bananas are meant to be stored at room temperature. If you have a fridge, apples will keep for 2 months or more in the fridge. Also with a fridge you can keep crunchy veggies like carrots or celery.

Avoid fried snacks like chips. Choose baked chips or pretzels are even better as they are low fat!

Try to avoid processed cheese and lunch meats as they have lots of salt which can raise your blood pressure. If you want sandwiches buy your meat and cheese from the deli and get as high quality as you can buy. Get whole grain or whole wheat bread instead of white.

Hope this helps!
