Cant decide between the RM TND730 and the Garmin 770LMTHD. I like the features of the RM, and it allows you to use your computer to plan your route, then download it to your GPS device. Has mile markers shown up and just looks to be a more overall polished unit. However, the garmin dezl has many features as well, but it also includes warnings for low bridges, which the TND730 doesnt have, from what ive read.

anyone out there used both and can give your opinion?

Also, it appears the the garmin weather is built into the GPS where with the RM you have to have a wifi connection to receive weather and traffic?

I prefer the Garmin deal, your Qualcomm has navigation your company has to pay like 10 bucks a month to have it turned on.

Which trucker gps do you guys recommed? Does the qualcomm have a gps on it? Thanks!

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

I've been looking at purchasing the RM TND Tablet. It's quite expensive but its pretty much all in one. Can also use it as personal tablet. Has a built in dash cam. However, could just buy a less expensive RM and a separate dash cam which aren't expensive at all. Anybody use the RM TNDTablet that could give me your opinion on the device? TIA

I personally haven't used the rm tablet, but a former student of mine bought one and has had problems with it. I don't know if those problems were common too them, specific to his one device, or specific to him.

I can say that I have the regular rm 5 inch gps and the only complaint I have about that is that it isn't the 7 inch screen. My eyes sometimes forget that I decided I wasn't getting older. Other than that I love it.

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

Hmm, RM TND Tablet. Can use it as a personal tablet? This is making me wonder, if you already have a tablet, does RM offer the ability to download their GPS software to that tablet, possibly saving someone a little money?
