I was never very good at backing, but I was starting to feel better about it. Then today I got a dose of reality: I was dropping a trailer in a yard and was told to "snug it up" next to the trailer in the next spot. Facing the trailers, I was supposed to put it on the right end of a line of trailers, and there was lots of space to the right and no lines to guide me. Probably I should have just parked as normal and got it as close as I could and then worked it over, but I thought maybe I'd try blind siding it so I could see the trailer I was parking next to. Well, after 10 or 15 minutes of me trying to work it around and get it close, one of the yard guys comes over and says "just drop it, I'll fix it for you". I don't know if they were taking pity on me or were just tired of me being in the way,

A yard dog told me to do the same... I couldn't cause 8 2as afraid I'd hit it. I left enough room for another trailer to be placed between them. The guy followed me into the office to confront me. Wtf? I told him he could tell I was new and only wanted to humiliate me. He succeeded. Now what

I'm usually pretty good I think. Today at a wide open truck stop I chose the back row. Since it's gravel with no lines I am going to back next to a truck on my driver's side. That way I won't be too crooked and if he leaves the spacing will still be ok. I set up wrong. Really wrong. By the time I knew how bad it was I figured I'd just keep trying. There was no other traffic or I would have pulled around to start over. A pedestrian walked by and I saw his face when he looked at what I was doing. As he passed my window I told him wasn't my best shot. We both laughed. I was embarrassed but so what? I have all of my paint and no one else's.
