You have to have a physical address for your license. I use my mom's and gave up my apartment. I have my mail sent to the prime terminal
A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
Hmm..I'm going to be based out of katy, tx. I don't have any family around here. My dad lives in Arkansas. I wonder if it's possible to have his house as my physical address, but keep a p.o. box in the Houston area and have all my mail sent there or, as you said, to the terminal?

You can have your license anywhere and your mail anywhere. My terminal has boxes in the mail room we rent. Because of 9/11 the Real ID Act states your must have a physical address. To get our permits Prime had us sign residency in MO then we transferred cdl back home.

Do truck drivers need to maintain a physical address? I live in an apartment, and if this job comes through, I'm curious if it would be a good idea to relinquish my apartment. Since I won't be there much at all, I could save over $1200 to $1300 a month by not having those expenses. I could simply take my down time wherever I am at, or could stay with my dad, at friends, or even a hotel.
I would get a p.o. box in Dallas for mail and to have an address.
Is this a common practice or something not advised?
