Thanks for making some calls on my behalf Old School. I specifically asked and my DM at the TIME about it and he flat it told me that he couldn't do anything about compensation. He said I could ask the manager about it but added that I'd have no success...

So far, my new DM is showing real concern and it's much appreciated. A big change from my old one. I'm currently stuck sitting at a shipper for a trailer that was supposed to be ready at 0900 this morning. I got here at 1230 and it isn't ready. They told me two more hours before it'll be ready, so over five hours late. Anyway, I'm sitting here waiting and my DM called to check on me and said they are working it from their end too. He must actually read those Qualcomm messages I send it. Very pleasant change.

And as anyways, thanks Old School and Brett for the sage advice.

Shipper:

The customer who is shipping the freight. This is where the driver will pick up a load and then deliver it to the receiver or consignee.

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

Dm:

Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

OWI:

Operating While Intoxicated

Sorry if I wasn't clear. It Ontario, CA. Right there among Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, etc.
