Need Advice On CR England Inhouse School

I have been talking with a recruiter from CR England about starting their 12 day school program and then the 2 month training program.. Has anyone else done this that can offer advice.. Is there any schools that are close to this in South Carolina? CR wants me to go to Indiana to their school... I was hoping for a closer place North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, or even Tennessee.. Any advice? I have read a lot of the diaries but still not sure..

I can only speak for Swift, they have a school located in Tennessee. one of our moderators, "Errol" attended there. He has a fairly concise diary of his training. Search on his name including training diary like so "Errol's Training Diary" and you should be able to locate it. I attended a Swift school in Richmond VA. For me it was the entry point into Swift and was a very good experience.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
