When I graduated high school and was considering college my dad gave me a piece of advice, "Four years are going to come and go. After those four years pass, you can either have your degree *OR* be thinking back to how you should have started it. Time isn't going to wait."
Granted, you're talking about one year and not four but it's the same idea. Get it started so it's done in a year as opposed to wishing you would have started it.
Side note: It ended up taking me 5.25 years to get my degree but I'm so happy I stuck with it.
