Hello William, and Welcome to our forum!
I'm afraid we have little expertise at helping folks transition from being a professional driver in a foreign country into our own. Most of our states will require you to hold a regular operators U.S. license for one year prior to allowing you to obtain a CDL (commercial drivers license). I do know that you cannot simply transfer your license into one of ours. We have had some people in our forum from England come here and do this, but they did have to cone here and wait a year before they could start driving our Big Rigs.
I remember another Kiwi in here one time. You should try putting kiwi in the search bar at the top of this page and see if you can find out about theur experience.
We're glad to have you in here, but I'm afraid we may not really know how to assist you.
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
Operating While Intoxicated

I have NZ Licences, and was wondering if it was possible to transfer them into American Licences? Interested to hear and make contacts from anyone thats done this, as a foreigner now driving there. Keen to do Team long-hauls, but whatever suits at the time. Just found this site and Im very impressed! Thanks, willi-Northland
