Also, remember that to do an 8/2 split, you MUST do the 8 hour break BEFORE the 2 hour break for your clocks to reset appropriately. If you take a full 10 hour break, drive for 4 hours, sit in a door for 2 hours, then drive another 3 hours and take an 8 hour break, when you wake up you're only going to have 4 hours of drive time available, not 7.

Not true. If you break for.2 hours then drive for 3 hours, then sleeper for 8...you get the difference of a full clock minus the three hours.

So when you wake, your drive clock will have 11-3 = 8 hours and then 14-3 = 11/hours on the 14 clock.

The four hours in the beginning is totally irrelevant once you take the second break.

Anyone can see this is true who has sat in a door for 2 hours. When you stop for the day go into the 8 sleeper. You will see time appear once the sleeper completes 8.

Rainy is 100% correct, the 8/2 split can also be done in reverse, whether e-logs or paper. Have done it both ways on multiple occasions.
