I just finished driving school!! I now have my CDL-A license with all of my endorsements! Now, on to orientation!! I head out Sunday evening to Pleasant Hill, NC to start with McElroy. I know I have tons more to learn, but I'm excited for the next leg of this journey!!

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.

By all accounts of my instructor who worked for them before, he says Mcelroy is a very good company to work for, goodluck to ya bud and congrats on your CDL-A

Thank you!! I've heard a lot of good things about them as well, which is what made me choose them for my first company. I'm going to give them 110%, so I can succeed in this industry!

OOS:

When a violation by either a driver or company is confirmed, an out-of-service order removes either the driver or the vehicle from the roadway until the violation is corrected.

We had our formal graduation today. I found out that I was the top of my class!!! I was very happy with that result!!! 😎
