I think your approach is a sound one. Besides, a couple cents less on the pay rate has far less to do with earning potential than your ability to grasp the skills and knowledge needed to be a top notch performer.

Thanks for the affirmation G-Town. I've rarely made the smart play in the past, but I felt this was a good fit. Testing begins in the morning, and I'm nervous, real nervous. I know I know all the stuff, but I'd really hate to flunk now.

Sorry, mistakenly posted before I was finished on the previous post.

I was saying "ugghhh! I got bumped to tomorrow for testing. So that's another day of nerves."

Yes! I am now have a Class A CDL! What a relief! I feel bad though, 4 classmates so far have failed today.

CDL:

Commercial Driver's License (CDL)

A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:

  • Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
  • Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
  • Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
