Congratulations. Glad you made it safe. We need a good diary for Crowder as mine covers Truck Dynasty. This will be a great help to others. Glad you get to take your CDL test there. Take your time. Good luck.

Thanks!

1-20-18 Day 2 Today we moved from the motel to housing on Crowder College Campus in Neosho, MO. We met our instructors, received our training materials, and filled out some paperwork. We were then taken to our dorms and then to lunch. That's all for today. Official start for class is Monday 1-22-18.

We got the "Tractor-Trailer Driver Training Manual", a Crowder College Driver Training Manual, route information for our practice routes, a pre trip inspection guide, and a 4-week training guide.

1-22-18 Day 3, Day 1 official start of school. Today was spent in the classroom. We covered basics such as hours of service, details about Compliance Safety and Accountability (CSA), and accident reporting. We spent just a short time on the simulators practicing double clutch and shifting. We were assigned some homework and finished our day.

CSA:

Compliance, Safety, Accountability (CSA)

The CSA is a Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) initiative to improve large truck and bus safety and ultimately reduce crashes, injuries, and fatalities that are related to commercial motor vehicle

Double Clutch:

To engage and then disengage the clutch twice for every gear change.

When double clutching you will push in the clutch, take the gearshift out of gear, release the clutch, press the clutch in again, shift the gearshift into the next gear, then release the clutch.

This is done on standard transmissions which do not have synchronizers in them, like those found in almost all Class A trucks.

Yes, double occupancy. We are in a unit with 2 bedrooms, 2 per bedroom. There are 2 restrooms and a common area with satellite tv.
