I'm putting together an article called "truckers see the craziest things" and I'd love to get some examples from you guys of some of the funny, crazy things you've seen out there. If you have pictures that's a HUGE bonus!!!! I can use them for sure.
This thread will also stay around as one of those conversations we just add on to as we come across stuff.
One of the things I'd also like to hear about are some of the things you've seen other drivers doing. Four wheelers famously don't pay attention to the road. They're texting and playing drums on the steering wheel or putting on makeup. But I'm sure you guys have seen even worse. I'd love to hear about em.
For me, one fond memory I have wasn't really funny or crazy but just kinda neat. I was cruisin' along one day and this bus passes me that says "Almost Willie" with a giant picture of Willie Nelson on it. I struck up a conversation with the guy and it turns out he's been touring the country forever as a professional Willie Nelson tribute band. He said Willie Nelson loves the show and has even made some guest appearances with him, which must have been mindblowing for all involved!
We had quite a lengthy talk on the CB (you kids don't even know what that is anymore) and he guy was super cool, as you would expect. I thought about what a fun and unique way that is to make a living and to live your life! No one's mom ever said their kid was going to grow up to be a Willie Nelson impersonator!
That was one of my favorite parts about trucking. You meet so many super unique and interesting people.
