I would wait until you're actually ready to start school before you get your permit. For starters, many drivers wind up training out of state and if that's the case you'll likely have to wait until you get to the state you'll be training in. Even if you stay in Florida to get your license a permit is only valid for a certain amount of time. If it expires you'll have to pay to go take the test again.
Study hard and learn all you can now. There's a lot to know. The permit tests and endorsement tests will be super easy once you work your way through our High Road Training. You can rifle through those tests in about an hour if you know the materials.
