So I applied for Knight's Squire training a few days ago and finally talked with someone today and plan on having another conversation tomorrow as that seemed to go well. I am hoping and praying that they say yes. I don't have an extensive work history due to having a disabled child for the past 20 years but she is now in a better facility with people who are adapt to care for her properly and allow me to go on with my dreams. I have zero felonies or tickets No accidents and No suspensions or DUI's I am pretty squeaky clean and proud of it! Any advice would be great

Hi Spud, welcome to the boards.

Keep doing what your doing and take it from there. I bugged the heck out of my recruiter lol. I was accepted pretty quickly but was trying to wait for a school to open that was going to be near me. I live in Indiana. I ended up attending a private school and started my orientation with Knight last Monday.

So far I have been very impressed with everyone I have been in contact with. Be open with your recruiter and tell them everything they need to know. Not having work history can be overcome by notarized letters from those who know you were taking care of your child. Your recruiter will give you all the details of what they need.

Others may come in and reply, but most of the time you will want to ask questions in the General forum. The diaries category is normally where those of us going through training give details of our experiences in order to help others coming in and also to receive advice and encouragement. But many of the experienced drivers may not have the time to read both forums so they may not see questions asked over here.

HOS:

Thanks for the heads up. I have decided to go with Swift Transportation. They are local to me. I had a very good discussion and feel confident in what they offered. I am going to do a refresher. Thanks again for the help.
