Why pay out of pocket only to find no company will hire you...then a few years later the cdl schooling will be no good and have to get trained again.
suspensions are taken very seriously. a whole year is a long time. was this a major thing like a DUI? that has a whole other bag of issues.
my suggestion would be to wait another couple years to give 3 years from the reinstatement.
you can try to apply everywhere and see who will take you. but dont be too disappointed woth refusals. make a plan and set your goal, then get it done.

No, not for a DUI. I had bought a car, was on my way to get insurance for it and a lady hit me. The accident wasn't my fault but since I had to report the accident to the DMV , didn't have insurance at the time of the accident, the DMV suspended my license.

Hey Esau! Sorry to hear about your troubles with your suspension. Hopefully you can work something out with one of the many companies that will receive your application if you use the link I quoted above. But before you actually submit that application, please take the time to read the many links provided in the quote to be sure you want to go through with such a huge responsibility of driving a big rig across the country. Also, you should read some of the diaries in the diaries section to understand what’ll be expected of you & to prepare for what you’ll encounter. Best of luck & God bless.

So I've decided to pursue being a truck driver, I've done my research and whatnot. Only thing is, I've called some companies about paid training and it seems my drivers license seems to be an issue. They've asked if I've had suspensions and have held it for 3 years. Ive had my license since Dec 23, 2013, and it was suspended in April 2016. It has been reinstated since April 2017. So, a full year suspended. I really want to get my CDL but i would like to know if it's a dream i should give up for now? Would paying for a school out of pocket change anything? Any help would be great, thanks.
