Gary, you will be so glad that you did the High Road, and that you got a headstart on your schooling. I just may allow you to have some golden "truck time", while your fellow students are hitting the books, that you have already devoured !! keep us updated...
This place is a great resource is it not? If you haven't done so already you could always grab the CDL practice test app for your phone. I still use it everyday just to keep the stuff I have learned fresh in my head even though I have passed the knowledge tests. Just another awesome tool that this community has thoughtfully provided for us! Good luck and fingers crossed!
CDL:
Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
A CDL is required to drive any of the following vehicles:
- Any combination of vehicles with a gross combined weight rating (GCWR) of 26,001 or more pounds, providing the gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of the vehicle being towed is in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any single vehicle with a GVWR of 26,001 or more pounds, or any such vehicle towing another not in excess of 10,000 pounds.
- Any vehicle, regardless of size, designed to transport 16 or more persons, including the driver.
- Any vehicle required by federal regulations to be placarded while transporting hazardous materials.
I just got through with the CDL corse. I have to say that I was nervous about just using the state manual. I found this site and the great training corse. I learned more from this site that I could of ever have just reading the manual.

I know you mean by being anxious Gary - I remember getting ready to start my career and I just couldn't stop thinking about it for five seconds!!! I just wanted to jump in a truck and go!
I'm really glad to hear our High Road Training Program has been so effective for you guys. You'll definitely learn the materials in the CDL Manual a thousand times better using our program than you would by simply reading the manual.

I'm getting antsy I guess, went ahead and bought my books for school 3 weeks early, finished the first two chapters of the main textbook already (on to chapter 3 tonight!!!)-about 76% complete on the CDL training course and watching videos, reading posts. Yep, I'm JUST a little excited and RARIN' TA GO!!!!!! COME ON JANUARY!!! I plan on using the CDL training THROUGHOUT my classroom training and sharing it with my fellow students....Thanks again Brett for providing this GREAT SITE!!!
