You have already heard the chorus about keeping the car. Two additional thoughts:

If you have that bottom level credit, keeping and paying off the loan is worth doing. It can only improve that score.

Another thing, talk to your insurance company. Let them know the car will hardly be driven. Sometimes instance companies can adjust the policy premium to reflect that.

This is absolutely the truth. When I told my carrier that I would use it less than 7K miles per year, they dropped my rate by $400 for 6 months. That’s $800 less per year!! Great advise!!

One additional thought, unless you know your Aunt/Uncle will be starting the car and drive it around at least every couple of weeks, disconnect the battery. I have one of my cars at Prime's Springfield terminal , have been doing that very thing and never had an issue with the car starting when I am at the terminal.

Terminal:

A facility where trucking companies operate out of, or their "home base" if you will. A lot of major companies have multiple terminals around the country which usually consist of the main office building, a drop lot for trailers, and sometimes a repair shop and wash facilities.
