Every company has their individual rules in this area. My company allows 50 miles every day for it. That is for company drivers, lease ops, and owner operators. I put forth a good scenario and safety granted me 110 miles. My girlfriend is a company driver with a different company and they have no policy for lease ops and do not allow it at all for company drivers. You would need to ask someone at the company for their policy.
An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.

Does anyone know if JB would allow me to use their truck while on personal off duty time to run errands? Is there a mileage limit on this? I was trying to look it up online & the best page I can find is this one from the DOT about “personal conveyance”:

Does it vary depending on the company you work for? I know if I became a lease operator I could, but what if I decide to become a company driver?
