Air Venture Oshkosh officially began Monday. It is the World's largest General Aviation gathering and it makes Wittman "Regional" airport the World's busiest for about 10 days.
If you are traveling Interstate 41 expect delays, backups, clueless tourists on their phones and surfing the internet, motorhomes (some rented by novices), lots of service vehicles and much much more! Not sure but guessing some construction and/or lane closures too because what fun would a major tourist event be without some construction and lane closures?!?
Oh yes... rigorous speed enforcement is par for the course in that entire stretch, pretty much from Fond du Lac to Green Bay or so!
Be safe!
I have been to Air Venture at Oshkosh and had a great time. If you are into airplanes like me it is a great way to see such a variety. Also traffic is crazy , on the ground and in the air :)
