Do these guys that run for TTS/Voyager really make any money as owner operators in NJ? I see ALOT of these drivers all time running up and down the pike. Trash is definitely consistent in trucking, seems like could be a good gig if your willing to deal with landfill bull****. I did it back in the day starting out running walking floors. Really wasn’t that bad if it was dry and you REALLY took your time and crawled around the landfill to avoid problems. Wondering if anyone has any info on pay as a owner operator , what are you bringing in weekly and how many turns are you doing per day hauling these trash wagons out of jersey? I currently lease on with a company doing regional flatbed lanes, but have to sleep out time to time. Would really like to find the impossible where I’m home every night.
Regional:
Regional Route
Usually refers to a driver hauling freight within one particular region of the country. You might be in the "Southeast Regional Division" or "Midwest Regional". Regional route drivers often get home on the weekends which is one of the main appeals for this type of route.
Owner Operator:
An owner-operator is a driver who either owns or leases the truck they are driving. A self-employed driver.
While there are a few owner ops here, I don't believe any of them have hauled trash....haven't seen any posts about it.
Most everyone here are company drivers.
