Jason, why do you want to be a truck driver?
You sound like you need a job in the trades. Why not be a plumber or an electrician? If being home is your priority, you've chosen the least likely career to help with that. If you can't even commit to a few weeks away from home for training, what makes you think a company will consider you a valuable person to take a chance on as an employee?
These are serious questions. I'm not questioning your ability to do this job, but surely you realize from your extremely limited choices that you are probably not headed for the best experience in this career.
Look, there's several flatbed companies that can get you home on weekends, but your location has some effect on that also. Try TMC, Maverick, or McElroy. I don't think any of them guarantee home time every weekend during training. None of those jobs are considered "weekends off." You'll be home for 34 hours, but that's gonna be it oftentimes.
