Speaking before the Senate Subcommittee on Surface Transportation last week, American Trucking Associations President and CEO Chris Spear said the pressures on the supply chain are “fast approaching crisis levels,” and that Congress needs to take immediate action to “ensure our economic recovery is not derailed by further disruptions.”

I'm not expert by any means, but frankly I think we as an industry have been fleeced enough over the years....IFTA, Operating taxes, permits and fees for hauling certain materials, not to mention the licensing fees (CDL applications, permits etc etc). REALLY? You mean to tell me that another tax or restructured tax on an already over tax farmed industry is going to change anything? Where has all the trillions of dollars over the decades fleeced gone?

Its not a tax/revenue issue, its a management and allocation issue. Many of the various "improvement projects" going on around the nation have been going on for YEARS with no end in sight?

Where's the money at brothers and sisters? What's they do with the money? Trillions over decades and they would have us believe a restructured tax is going to solve things? Really, are we THAT dumb? Rhetorical question obviously, most of us see through the BS.

Case in point Spokane, WA has been under "improvement" for the last couple of years, including roundabouts (which i cant stand).

Its all about mismanagement, too many cheifs and government beaurcrats......

My .02 cents....
