As we prepare for our first holiday since recovering from Covid pandemic, let us not forget what the real meaning of Memorial Day is all about. Since the beginning of our great nation, brave souls have stood up to defend the freedoms that we so greatly cherish and some have fallen in the process. Some enlisted and others were drafted but "Some gave all and All gave some". Those brave souls deserve our recognition and forever our gratitude for the freedoms we enjoy today and every day.
Without their sacrifices we would not be the United States of America so put aside your political beliefs, your differences and any hatred towards others and remember without those that gave the ultimate sacrifice none of us would have this great nation to call home. There is no other nation on Earth that matches the USA so honor it or leave it.
I will honor my brother-in-law, Pvt. Charles L. Danberry, USMC, for his sacrifice to our nation in May 1968 in Vietnam and allowing me the freedom I enjoy today.
