I'm an o/o who works on the spot market. Most of my loads come from the big companies, the Walmart's, Sam's clubs, target's. Places that have multiple loads a day.
To the ltl people, who are normally your customers? Smaller places that don't need 53 feet of capacity? Or are your customers big places. Do you pick up 2 to 3 trailers and drop them in different yards? I'm very green when it comes to ltl. Thank you in advance.
LTL:
Less Than Truckload
Refers to carriers that make a lot of smaller pickups and deliveries for multiple customers as opposed to hauling one big load of freight for one customer. This type of hauling is normally done by companies with terminals scattered throughout the country where freight is sorted before being moved on to its destination.
