I don't think it is true that most men don't want to train women. Women are often better and safer drivers and men are the first to admit it. Women trainers are hard to find and the wait is long at most companies. Often companies wont allow you to switch your choice because later you could argue you were forced to change due to a lengthy wait.
I would stay at swift. A smaller company most likely wont train due to insurance coverage of newbies. That is why the mega carriers are the major training companies. So what if the trainer was embarrassed. Oh well, crap happens.
I am.a non smoker and had a chain smoking male trainer. He was good and I wanted this so much I dealt with it. May advice is get through training and don't give up. Work it out wither swift cause other companies could see you as a quitter or judge you more harshly for hitting the pole.
Dm:
Dispatcher, Fleet Manager, Driver Manager
The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.
I just read this... Sorry I am late.
