I feel you I've been away from home for awhile now and am feeling thr pain. I gotta get in the groove and I know the time I do spend home is going to be good.

Just hoping I can last at least a year. Once the money starts stacking up I'll be questioning my motives. I have no bills so it's pretty easy to save.

Honestly I'm going into truck to be away from being treated like Dirt at work. But since there is no getting away from it. If I need to help I'll help, Try to keep my mind occupied from any rude people wanting to take it out on me. I understand that long hours, I don't mind driving for long hours actually (Though the most I've done is 3 Hours from Cn to Maine.) ANd driven a 15 pass van in FLorida. (Though not as long hours.)

Honestly I have a ton of worries but I feel the need for these challenges. Regardless of how hard it is.

Oddly enough that is mostly why I want to drive a truck.

Don't get me wrong, love my family...Just better from afar; and I figure as long as there is a working radio, I can wait around as long as needed.

Right around the 9 month mark is where things smoothed out for me. Its not easy out here at all but I love it. I have very far and few dayd where I get so frustrated I just wanna say f*** it (usually only happens when I break a nail) lol Hang in there. It will be just fine

I figured while I was resurrecting myself I would bump this little gem to the top. If you're new and thinking about coming into this industry, it's worth some contemplation. This lifestyle isn't for everyone and more often than not the "glitz and glamor" that folks think it is turns into a hard pill to swallow.

I see my family a lot but I'm a local line hauler and it took a while to get to the position I'm in. And this job isn't for everyone, but every job out there isn't for everyone. This job can have hours of sucking, but also hours where it's the easiest job on the planet, usually between may through October

Line Haul:

Linehaul drivers will normally run loads from terminal to terminal for LTL (Less than Truckload) companies.

LTL (Less Than Truckload) carriers will have Linehaul drivers and P&D drivers. The P&D drivers will deliver loads locally from the terminal and pick up loads returning them to the terminal. Linehaul drivers will then run truckloads from terminal to terminal.
