Good afternoon everyone! Got my start in the industry about 7 years ago. I started out on a local, home daily account delivering food-grade bulk flour to bakeries. About 7 months in, I transitioned into the hazmat/tanker division and began on another local, home daily account, delivering various petroleum products. Due to an unforseen health issue, about 4 months ago I had to change positions to something that less physically demanding, so I accepted a teaching at a local school as CDL Instructor. If I can help anyone who may be thinking about attending CDL school or is already enrolled in CDL school, please feel free to reach out.
Hi Joe,
I am trying to get into trucking, not sure yet if this is for me though. I am using the CDL PREP APP to prepare for my knowledge test in California. I admit that one of the most challenging things to memorize is the table for the different wire and chain WLL for the different grades, it's been virtually impossible for me, I am still trying but it looks like I won't memorize everything.
That aside, I would really like to hear from you, as an instructor, if a phone app, such as CDL PREP or DMV Genie, would be enough to pass the knowledge test (the official manual is too long and tedious, far from learning-friendly, with tons of irrelevant reading that will not be in the test).
I will appreciate your comments. :)
