Researching Cost And Requirements To Get Have My Own Authority!!

Good evening all. Its been some time that i have been on hear, glad to see its still going. So i am looking into getting my own authority and do my own thing. does anyone know of a check list or a good trusted site? i would like to figure out cost and get my ducks in row and see if it would be financially right for me. any help will be appropriated.

The costs can be different depending on your state. What you need right off is 300 for the federal gov’t as an application fee. It takes3-6 weeks for processing. You will need to secure insurance before the feds will activate your authority. Also your base plate, heavy use, and ifta go hand in hand. Those costs are not always equal. Insurance will be the biggest.

Then you have to get an eld setup that too various in cost. Prepass or drivewyze plus toll transponder if you plan to use those. Next is how you plan to pay for your fuel!! Many different options on the market for all these things.

I would recommend you have roughly 15-20k set aside for everything.
