So I just recently had my first born son. And like any happy father I wanted to be at my first child birth. I was contracted out thru a company and let them know ahead of time when I was hired and when it was the time for the birth. I was out for a week and there was open communication with them when I left when I would return. Granted they didn't care they was tryna have me come back after 2 days. When I get back from all these I go back to the lot I paid to have my truck parked at, my truck is gone. After 2 hours of calling people the people I was contracted out to finally come out and said they put the truck in recovery. They haven't paid me at all these past two weeks of the money they owe me. They never notified me bout the truck being moved. But they was implying I had a loaf ready the moment I made it back to my truck. I had belongings and valuables in the truck and now they are playing to all this. And still haven't released my money. Who and what ways can I report these people to get shut down. And do I fill a police or with DOT. Thank you for the help

DOT:

Department Of Transportation

A department of the federal executive branch responsible for the national highways and for railroad and airline safety. It also manages Amtrak, the national railroad system, and the Coast Guard.

State and Federal DOT Officers are responsible for commercial vehicle enforcement. "The truck police" you could call them.

Congrats on the birth of your child!!

It is hard to respond to the redt of your post, alot of missing information.

Who owns the truck??

What is the contract you mentioned with the company??

From your info it is not clear who knows anything at the company about it.

Yo need to first start with your Driver manger and get answers as to what happened. If he/she doesn’t know start up the chain of command. Someone has to know something. That should lead you to find out where the truck and your stuff went.

Your recourse has nothing to do with the police or Dot. It is a civil issue with the company.

Leaving a truck sitting isn’t making any money and if they needed it for another driver then that is what they will do. That should have been clear before you went out.

If you worked for them a week before going off, did they terminate you and claim you abandoned the truck??
