Best Resident State For OTR Drivers Living In A Truck?

I know it would be best to be a resident of a state with no income tax. Do any of those states have an advantage over the others? And is a PO box enough to establish and maintain yourself as a resident?

Last year I changed my state of residence from Wisconsin to South Dakota for tax purposes. SD was the easiest and cheapest state to change to.

You do need an actual address, not a PO Box. You can get that from Your Best Address, Sioux Falls, SD where you get a PMB (personal mail box). You do need to go to Sioux Falls and stay in a motel for 1 night so you have a receipt with your new address to take to DMV. The people at Your Best Address will walk you through the process. Presto, no waiting period.

The primary person a driver communicates with at his/her company. A dispatcher can play many roles, depending on the company's structure. Dispatchers may assign freight, file requests for home time, relay messages between the driver and management, inform customer service of any delays, change appointment times, and report information to the load planners.

Department of Motor Vehicles, Bureau of Motor Vehicles

The state agency that handles everything related to your driver's licences, including testing, issuance, transfers, and revocation.
