I'm only posting to bring this back to top page. I'm planning on getting one also and am curious.
The drive cam I use is the DOD LS300 wdr. It's a bit more expensive at $254 plus I paid $30 for 2 days air and tax which total price was $295.
While most good quality drive cams do well during the day and have a very clear video feed it's the night time that most cams complete fail at. This one does excellent with night time video due to its WDR (wide dynamic range) with lighting at night. It allows more light in at night for clearer and brighter night filming. It has and 8 hour run time before it starts looping back and recording over the oldest video. It also has manual and auto video protection so the locked portions will not get over written. Just do a search on DOD LW300 reviews on youtube. Since my truck moves 24/7 really needed good night time video quality also.
Hi, also been wondering about those, after watching a lady trucker on you tube claimed an O/O tried to siphon gas from her truck. Check out www.windshieldcam.com. Don't know if anyone else has used it or how good a product it is. Anyone???

That happens quite a bit out here. But if you ask those same diesel stealing owner ops they will say they are making a great living and making plenty of money. Of course they are when they are stealing and not paying for diesel fuel.
Most major carriers have installed a metal cage device in the opening of the fuel tank so no one can siphon all the fuel out of the tank.
And about the dash cams. I have one also. Its a huge blessing! You wouldn't believe what I caught on my camera with the thing. You don't have to get a very good one like Guyjax has. I have the Top Dawg Dash Cam, its useless at night but I hardly ever night drive unless I have to. But it does a splendid job otherwise. I only got it for 80$.
The only reason Guyjax can afford a dash cam like that one is because he's not married. He's rich, I'm married - I'm broke!

Far from rich my friend but I figure that it's a great investment and would rather have it and not use it then not have it and need it.
And really needed the night time video cause my brother does all the night time driving. I like the feeling of not having to point ffingers or wonder if my story will be believable to the officer if there is an accident. I will only have to show the video and everything will take care of itself.

I would like some of the members recommendations on Dash Cams. I am considering purchasing one for my own use. I would appreciate as much information about the product you are using and the reason's why. There are a lot of different products out there, and I am trying to find the best one for me. I want thank everyone who who helps me on my quest for knowledge.
