I had back to back days of a road tests for 2 new potential companies. During the driving portion they were very comfortable and shooting the $$$$. First back I was able to swing around make it a straight back but was very slow. We bobtailed back to the building and I was backing into the space and did 4 pull ups turning the wrong way a couple times. LOL. Today it was a simple sight side and got out 4 times. He stopped me before I got straight to tell me how to get my tractor in line.

First time in a day cab. Its pretty wild when they give so many compliments about my driving then they see the backing. It truly something to see when they think youre a pro at driving and then see that. The total change in mood and getting quiet.

The second one the guy was dumbfounded and you could tell he was wondering how I did 3 years of Dollar General backing. LOL.

Bobtail:

"Bobtailing" means you are driving a tractor without a trailer attached.

Day Cab:

A tractor which does not have a sleeper berth attached to it. Normally used for local routes where drivers go home every night.
