Whatever sensor a touchscreen has inside it in order to read points and clicks from your finger is dead on my QC. Does anyone if I purchase a USB mouse and plug it into the port on QC will I be able to use it navigate around?

No idea. Have you tried getting with the repair shop to see if they can give you any advice? Also, call your log department, they can send a signal to the unit to reboot it, that sometimes works (I forget the key combo needed to reboot it yourself, something you might ask about for the future).

Fixed it. Went to Wally World and got an $8 mouse. Plugged it in and used it for about 10 secs and the QC went some sort of screen calibration mode and has worked ever since. Keeping the mouse though just in case. As long as I have a mouse, the touchscreen isn't absolutely essential. All that rebooting, resetting, unplugging didn't help. Wish I knew how to force it into that screen calibration though.

Unless your company has its drivers completely locked out of the entire system then you should see it in the system settings. I am using Qualcomm and pretty much have full access to I can reset it it i need to or just run a diagnostic On the truck to trouble shoot before calling road service since they will have me do it anyway

Qualcomm:

Omnitracs (a.k.a. Qualcomm) is a satellite-based messaging system with built-in GPS capabilities built by Qualcomm. It has a small computer screen and keyboard and is tied into the truck’s computer. It allows trucking companies to track where the driver is at, monitor the truck, and send and receive messages with the driver – similar to email.

This happens to my QC about once every two or three months. A quick fix is to turn your battery disconnect (assuming your truck has one) to "off" for about 10 minutes. That'll cause whatever glitch is making your screen unresponsive to resolve itself. For a while, anyway.

Press the 'head' button for 10 secs and releasing will do a soft reboot. Using the stylus and holding Down the button on lower right (looks like pen on cards) for 15 secs allow you to calibrate the touch screen. Use the stylus and not your finger. If neither of those work ask r/a or logs to force reset your qc. If none of that works, log out then log back in. I have had nothing but problems with my qc.

HOS:

Hours Of Service

HOS refers to the logbook hours of service regulations.

If none of that works, get a bigger hammer ...

Plugging a mouse in works too.
