Pull straight forward in the main lane almost to the front (the forward stop place). Then turn left enough to drive your right steer tire through the 4 foot zone. Once you get the steer though the zone, don't turn, keep straight going in that direction. Watch the right mirror, keep the right side of your trailer inside that 4 foot mark.
{Side note: that end cone you just passed & the broken line marks the right side of your main lane. Keep an eye on that.}
Before the right tandem tires start to pass out of the broken line, then you turn right to bring the tractor and the trailer front back to be parallel.
A set of axles spaced close together, legally defined as more than 40 and less than 96 inches apart by the USDOT. Drivers tend to refer to the tandem axles on their trailer as just "tandems". You might hear a driver say, "I'm 400 pounds overweight on my tandems", referring to his trailer tandems, not his tractor tandems. Tractor tandems are generally just referred to as "drives" which is short for "drive axles".
