Hey truckers - I come here as an outsider, LOL.

I am not a professional trucker but I do have a CB radio installed in my vehicle and travel ~500 miles per week between Virginia and Pennsylvania to visit my girlfriend and son.

I log 200+ miles per week on I-81, and plenty more on I-64, I-70, & I-99.

A month or two ago I installed a Uniden 520XL in my little dark blue 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback, with a Cobra HGA 1500 antenna. SWR was acceptable out the box without tuning (confirmed via an SWR meter). Not sure the effective range (guessing 3-5 miles, maybe up to 10); I have managed to make contact on multiple occasions and can receive clear transmission.

Just wanted to say "hey!". I'm always keying the mic with my location (interstate, mile-marker) during my trips, saying hello to any drivers out there on ch. 19. If any friendly drivers are frequenting that route and see/hear me out there, give a holler and say "howdy". Would love to chat with some pals during the drive!

Below is the route I take during my trips:

This post reminded me of a great time I had visiting with a little boy on the radio. If anyone's interested here's a link to a post about it.

That was a fun read.

Would've been 15-20+ years ago, but I fondly remember my mom taking me and my friend (when we were kids, under 12 years old) on playdate and we wound up on I-81 and I-64 for awhile. Every single truck we passed we'd do the "HONK" arm pump, and the vast majority gave us some love. Fun times.

Need you to come keep me company during my travels! I don't have enough podcasts or music in my library to keep up with the 8-10 hours of driving per week, LOL.
